Learjet Maintenance
Tucson, AZ
The Learjet maintenance facility is a 24/7 operation providing full maintenance and repair services to the Bombardier family of aircraft.
Prior to Stingray's involvement, the main Learjet maintenance hanger used 400-watt, high pressure sodium high-bay fixtures. The yellow light produced by the sodium fixtures made small part and critical wire-harness identification and handling difficult.
Stingray retrofitted the hanger with 250-watt energy saving HID high-bay fixtures resulting in a 45% reduction in lighting energy costs. The Learjet mechanics felt that the light provided by the 250-watt Stingray system was vastly superior to that of the 400-watt HPS system that it replaced. Two years after completion of the main hanger project, Learjet asked that Stingray retrofit their second hanger resulting in additional energy savings and a much improved working environment in both facilities.
