Parking Garage Lighting
Parking garages represent a unique set of lighting needs and challenges. In addition to the inherent conflicts of mixing pedestrian and vehicular traffic, both must also navigate a confined space full of intrusive structural elements, varying surface heights and myriad visual wayfinding cues. Quality lighting is critical for both accident safety and the security of people and property.
Especially high illuminance levels are required at entry and exit points to aid in visual adaptation when transitioning to or from exterior daytime light levels. To accommodate relatively low mounting heights parking garage luminaires must efficiently produce a broad illumination pattern to achieve needed uniformity while casting light into the slots between parked cars that are inherently prone to be in shadow. However, all of these objectives must be achieved without creating distracting or debilitating glare in the drive lane.
Stingray Energy Systems can provide effective parking garage lighting that meets all IESNA recommended practices while minimizing energy usage and lighting maintenance requirements.
